Introduction
I reciently decided to redesign my blog, as well as extend the content in it. The blog will now include personal posts about my life, as well as posts involving Ubuntu, FLOSS and other tech related things. I also became an Ubuntu Member, and my blog is now syndicated on Planet Ubuntu.
Because of these changes, I decided that I would introduce myself. My name is Chris Johnston (obviously). Offline I am a Fire Fighter / Paramedic in Florida. In January I am starting the nursing program at a local college, in hopes of being a Registered Nurse in a year. I have a wife and two children, ages 4 and 2 (next month)
In the Ubuntu world, I am a member of the Florida LoCo and the Ubuntu Community Learning Project. I am currently in the mentorship process for both the Beginners Team and the Bug Squad.
I am also currently working on planning the first Ubuntu User Day. The goal of the User Days project is to create a day of courses for beginner and intermediate Ubuntu Users. Some of the topics that will be discussed are ‘Switching to Ubuntu,’ ‘Command Line Basics,’ and ‘Finding Helpful Resources.’
I founded the Ubuntu Hour in the Orlando area. I have also participated in some different events and gatherings put on by the Florida LoCo.
You can normally find me hanging out somewhere on irc.freenode.net as ‘cjohnston.’ If you see me around feel free to say Hi!

Hi Chris,
I am also a member of the Ubuntu Beginners Team and by some wild coincidence I am also a Registered Nurse with some 20 years in a general Intensive Care Unit. I shall keep my eye out for you in #ubuntu-beginners
.
Andrew
